NOTES FOR LECTORS:

1. At the 9:00 AM Services, the first Lector should read the First Lesson and
   then lead the congregation in the reading of the Psalm. The second Lector
   will lead the Prayers of the People. The Second Lesson will not be read.

2. When you read at the lectern, please move the microphone so that it
    is at the same level as, and in front of, your mouth. With the microphone
    in place, please stand close and speak up so that you could be heard
    from several feet away without amplification- a normal conversational
    volume is not sufficient.

3. When you read at the microphone in the center aisle, please stand
    directly in front of, and close to, the microphone, and speak up.

4. You should be able to hear your voice coming out of the speakers; if you
    cannot hear yourself, then other people cannot hear you either. If you are
    too close to the microphone, or are speaking too loudly, you will hear
    some popping when you pronounce sibilants like "b" or "d" or "p" or "t";
    if this happens, just back away from the microphone an inch or two and
    the popping should stop.
