oy Mullen has been the Director of Music Ministries and Organist of St. Stephen’s since January 2012. She has been a church musician for most of her life. She directs the Parish Choir, Handbell Ringers and Children?s Choir. In addition, she works with vocal soloists and instrumentalists. Her goal is to provide music that will enable the worship experience to be meaningful and relevant. She wants to assist those with gifts in music to find a place of service in the church. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree with Performance Honors in Organ from Syracuse University and a Master of Music degree in Organ from the University of Massachusetts. In addition, she has 47 additional graduate credits in Education. She teaches music in grades Pre-K-8 at the Richmond Consolidated School in Richmond, Massachusetts.
Joy lives in Pittsfield with her husband Roger. Roger and Joy have two children – Bethany, a music major at the University of Texas at San Antonio and Jacob, an aerospace engineering major at Syracuse University. Joy is a Syracuse University sports fan and a Boston Celtics fan. She enjoys gardening and home repair projects.
