Joseph Farnes comes all the way from Idaho Falls, Idaho, living between the foothills to the Rocky Mountains and the Arco Desert. He graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington with his BA in religion in 2008. He served in the Episcopal Service Corps / Resurrection House program in Omaha, Nebraska and then returned to Idaho to serve in the student services office of a local college. He completed his Master of Divinity degree at Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas and was ordained a priest in Idaho in June 2015.
Joseph is passionate about Christian spirituality and discipleship both for individuals and for communities. He draws inspiration for his own spiritual life from the Society of St John the Evangelist, the writings of Henri Nouwen and William Stringfellow, and the liturgical life embodied in the Prayer Book.
He treasures his friendships that he’s made across the US and is delighted to join the company of saints that calls the Berkshires home.
