Jazz Vespers: Thursday, September 7, 6:00 PM
The next Jazz Vespers is Thursday, September 7 at 6:00pm at Zion Lutheran Church. (There is no Jazz Vespers in August.) Jazz Vespers brings together Marisa Massery, voice; Katharine Wiencke, flute; Andy Wrba, bass; Sturgis Cunningham, drums; and Ben Kohn, piano; for an evening service filled with jazz, song, and community. A hearty reception precedes Jazz Vespers starting at 5:30 p.m.
Zimbelstern Auction: Sunday, September 24, 4:00 PM
Zion’s Zimbelstern auction is Sunday, September 24 at 4:00 p.m. Zion Lutheran is raising money for the purchase of their Zimbelstern (a musical instrument which rings small bells at random as an accompaniment to organ music). They are asking folks to donate goods or services that people would want to bid on. The auctioneer is Amy Renak and they will have hors d’oeuvres and wine. St. Stephen’s is invited to participate by attending or donating items. It should be a fun time.
Friday, September 29: Taste of Germany Dinner

Festive Sanctuary Rededication: Saturday, October 28
Save the date! A festive rededication of the sanctuary of Zion Lutheran Church will be held on Saturday, October 28 at 1:00pm. The Rev. James Hazelwood, bishop of the New England Synod, will preside, and participants will include church members, community leaders, and area clergy.
